I'm using BC and have located marked a waypoint on the southern end of a pond. When I click on the UTM coordinates has 6 digits in the easting coordinate and 7 digits in the northing coordinate.

When I go to my eTrex30 to enter the waypoint, it's looking for seven numbers for each whereas the easting coordinate has only 6 digits.

In Basecamp, I checked under Options and I did reset it the coordinates to be UTM and NAD27 CONUS.

Am I misinterpreting something?

I found the answer.

The easting number, which is 6 digits, is always preceded with a zero. So, when I enter the easting coordinate I start with a zero then add the 6-digit coordinate to arrive at the 7-digit number the GPS unit is looking for.
