custom maps

I am a newbe to this forum. I am also wondering why some maps will show the PC icon and others no PC icon in the Map Features section of the map download page. If I create a map using the Tutorials from the website will the map be viewable on a computer as well as a GPS? Would there be any way to modify any custom map available from the GPSFileDepot that has no PC icon listed in the Map Features to be able to view on a PC computer? Thanks.

All the maps should be viewable on a PC.  Which maps don't have a PC icon?

Also, you can't really modify any of the maps available; but you can view them in mapsource and if you follow the tutorial it will be viewable on the PC and gps

Thanks, Oz. If I look on the 'Editors Choice Maps" I see Colorado Topo, Utah Topo, and Wyoming Topo maps with no PC icon. Also under 'All maps added/updated in the last 30 days" there are more maps without the PC icon. But I also see that the maps in question are not hosted by GPSFileDepot. Is that why there is no PC icon listed for them? Thanks, again.
