When I attempt to download the Arizona topo map (Editor's choice) my anti virus software (Avast) issues a warning and blocks the operation. I think that the same happened with the Nevada map. California and Oregon downloaded without problems

This is a new "feature" of Avast Free.

Avast updated their software to flag files it hasn't analyzed frequently enough and it is causing problems for this software and a lot of others.  If you turn off the "DeepScreen" setting this error (and errors with other software it hasn't analyzed enough) will go away.

There are not viruses in those maps.

Here is more on this issue; it is pretty large and affecting a lot of websites: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=143341.0

And was automatically enabled in the 2014 version.

I unclicked Deep Screen and Avast still blocked me from downloading the Arizona topo.

I notice there's a new posting on this, also.  I scanned the file with antimalwarebytes and of course it was negative. I installed it sandboxed and didn't see anything bad happening.  I'm convinced its a false positive.

But it would be a great attack vector, and I wonder if you would consider posting an md5 hash of the files available...at least someone attacking your website would have to change two things ;)

I'd suggest either starting a new heading or making this sticky.
