I make a new track in Map Source, send it to Dakota 20, and it does not appear on my map.  I see it in the list, Show On Map is enabled.

Any insight just before deer hunting?

EDit:  I have done this before with other Dakota 20's at deer camp (made the hunting boundary as a track, then uploaded it to their unit and it worked fine.  With this man's Dakota 20, it is not working.  Not real familiar with the Dakota 20, but always want to help others.

Again, any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I don't know about the Dakota, but on the Montana (and Oregon IIRC), you must choose "record and show" under the tracks menu or none of your tracks will show on the screen. This is a separate menu from the Track Manager, which is where you would choose "show on map" for the track that you sent.

In other words, unless the unit is set to record and show the current track, then none of the tracks will show. But maybe this is different on the Dakota?

Boyd,  Thank you.  My friend read the reply and called me shouting the praises of the knowledge base here.  His device is working great now.

Again, thank you for the speedy reply and your help.

Just re-checked this on my Montana 650 and my Dakota 20, and I can set individual tracks to 'Show On Map', and they are visible in the Map screen, regardless of track log recording status.

Interesting - maybe they changed the firmware? I remember having this problem before and seeing it discussed elsewhere.

Glad that it worked for you on the Dakota though.

Show On Map is the way to go on the Dakota 20   ;)
