   Somehow the preloaded maps were removed from my gps. Garmin said I would have to send the unit back to them and pay $110 to get them reloaded. Is there someway to recover them or reload them to my gps. No I did not back up my drive.

Only from Garmin, but I've heard in the past that they can remotely connect with your GPS and restore those files. Due to copyright, it would be out of line for someone else to provide the maps to you.
