mapsoure wont start and load maps to sims card

New to site and loading maps  loaded basecamp to pc when picking maps all I have is globle map when I frame in area to load I get mapsoure no product  found and mapsource will not run Followed steps when picking maps but I have no list of state maps l  thanks I do have sim card in laptop to load to   I have garmin 450

Have you installed a mapset?
I am confused - 'loaded basecamp'  ... 'mapsource no product/mapsource will not run.  Are you using BaseCamp or MapSource ?
You need to install a mapset before either will 'see' it; and restart the program after installing a mapset as both programs only check for available mapsets when they start-up.

loaded mapsource called garmin they said to uninstall mapsource and load basecamp said it works better with 450 I ll try to install mapset thanks

Both programs will work fine to send maps to your Oregon 450. But you should use Basecamp to transfer other kinds of data (tracks, waypoints) because Mapsource is not fully compatible.
