I just processed an unedited csv file with schools and it looks like the correct elevation in feet was passed onto the gpx file    Thanks so much for all the hard work!

Could I possibly just delete the "Ele(m)*" column from each csv to achieve the elevation in feet? Not sure what the script looks for in regards to the elevation so not sure if this will work or not.

I'm converting GNIS csv files and when converting summits, selected to append the elevation to the name (great feature!). Instead of appending the elevation in feet, it appears to be adding to elevation in meters. Did the file structure of the csv files possible change since the tool was written?

The header on the GNIS csv files reads:

"Feature name","Feature Id","Class","County","Latitude","Longitude","State","Map**","Ele(m)*","Ele(ft)*","BGN","Entry Date"

The resulting gpx file in turn produces the elevation in meters within <ele></ele>, which may or may not be the desired result of the tool (my assumption was not because when appending the elevation on summits it adds 'ft' to the elevation).

I guess my questions are: Is the elevation handed off to the gpx file supposed to be in meters? If not, any ideas for a work around this (aside from changing the script)?

All the lines/patterns are 0 elevation and it seems the best solution I can come up with that avoids processing all the data again with DEM2TOPO (which has the 'sea level threshold' option) is to remove all lines with 0 elevation. Hopefully this can be done with GPSMapEdit... looks easy with GlobalMapper.

I've been using topo_process to create my contours and have found along the coast of WA and in large bodies of water I have a number of weird lines which are not produced when using DEM2TOPO.

Anyone know what the weirdness is in the attached image and what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks, appreciate you pointing that out    I expected them to take a while to save to *.mp files, but no time at all.

A question regarding the contour *shp files. If we're using GPSMapEdit, I assume we need to convert the files to *.mp files. Is there an easier way to do this other than importing it into GPSMapEdit? And if not, when importing, I need to select a line style for the polyline. Any help with what to select would be greatly appreciated 

Wanted to drop a big thanks for this. Working on (another!) WA map and this has been pretty great in regards to letting me easily process large amounts of data.

Also, not sure if shutle64 ever got any word about North of Cape Flattery, but I came up with with no DEM data for it also.
