Title: POI data in New Mexico Topo
Post by: daveinnewmexico on November 17, 2011, 06:24:34 PM
I brought these maps up in Garmin MapSource and noticed that all the POIs that show elevation are wrong by the ratio meter/ft - When they are labeled as ft, the value is the correct value for m, when I change the MapSource to display mode in meters, the values get reduced again by the factor 0.3048.  Anyone else notice this?  Can it be fixed?

Which maps?  Unless the heights are listed as part of a label, you should be able to change the height units in your MapSource preferences.  If they are part of the label the map was compiled that way and you're out of luck.

It can be fixed... by me.  When I update the roads I'll fix the POIs.

It would be great if you could attend to this correction soon - hiking season is getting in full swing here and I find these maps quite useful!  Thanks!  ;)

Hi Oz, thanks for the maps!  Just wanted to bump this in case it hasn't made your bug list.  Cheers.
