Difference between MapSource and BaseCamp?

    I just loaded BaseCamp onto my computer and sent the PA planimetric and WV topo to it. It worked but it looks like just a bunch county lines and chopped up roads and does not look anything like a topo maps that I have on Mapsource. Is this the way it looks and changes when it is sent to the GPS or is something not right?

  What exactly do you mean by adjusting the detail? What would you have to change on BaseCamp to adjust any detail?
