Run the .exe file you downloaded.  It will install the mapset into MapSource/

See: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-maps-on-my-garmin-gps-unit/

CN is a Garmin product; you can purchase it through dealers who sell Garmin products.

got it to work is there a way i can overlay a map of the hunting land on my topo i can get the map off of the dnr website wha should i save it as? and how do i layer it on?

Get the data in vector format - probably shape file format.
Then use mapedit from http://www.geopainting.com/en/ to create an .mp file with transparency set to YES
Use cgpsmapper to create a .img file
Use MapSetToolKit to install the file into MapSource.
Use MapSource to select the various quads/tiles from the mapsets you want to send to your GPSr.

There a various tutorials on gpsfiledepot and other sites.

There are also other ways to do this using other software, some free some not.
