Garmin Astro 320 update question?

This may be the wrong spot to post this, I apologize if it is - point me in the right direction and I'll post there. I am new to this site and was unable to find any info on the this matter on the internet.

I do not have a win or mac pc, using a chromebook and need to update the firmware to 4.40 on my astro 320. Is there any way to do this via micro sd card?

To perform an update, you just need to download the installer file, change the name to gupdate.gcd and copy it to the Garmin directory on your Astro. Now that assumes you can find  the file however.

An old method of doing this is described on this old Oregon wiki, but I'm not sure if that download URL method still works. See the part "GCD based updates" here:

But you can probably find the update file on this third party software archive. Looks like they have version 4.40

Personally I am very reluctant to update any of my Garmin devices unless there's a specific problem that I'm personally experiencing and the update notes claim to fix it. Update almost always create some new issues. ;)
