Hello, I looked for this on previous posts but could not see it exactly.
I am trying to load OSM on my Nuvi for a trip to the Philippines. Basecamp has the map file and is showing it in its list but when I try to transfer the map to either the unit or the SD card it just gives the message 'Select maps to install' even though I have done this (many times!), any ideas anyone?  Thanks.

If you follow the instructions from this tutorial, you should be all set:

Does this mean you can view the map in BaseCamp?

Yes, it is there (and would be very useful as Garmin don't have mapping for this region) which is frustrating because when I saw it I thought I had succeeded. The map name in the box turns blue when you click on it but then the message comes up 'Select maps...'

Did you get your map from  http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/  ?
If not, try downloading the same area from them.  All OSM maps aren't created equal and AFAIK these guys are the best.

Thanks, Seldom, I went to the NL site and their downloads were larger and more comprehensive than the Philippine OSM site I had been using.
The map still wouldn't load using the Mapinstaller (same message) but by reading the Instructions on the NL site as to which files did what and should go where I somehow managed to drag them into the correct files on the SD card using Windows Explorer and eventually it all loaded.
As with all my forays into Garmin land it worked in the end but only after many hours of trying and not knowing what finally did the trick.
Anyhow, it is working now so thanks again.

This is the point you have to select which map tiles from the selected mapset you want to install on the GPSr. The software won't know if you want everything or only part of a mapset, you need to select the maps tiles.
