Pre Newbie Map Question

What a great forum and site!  My wife just told me happy birthday by ordering a Dakota 20!  We're trail riders on our horses in Arizona, and don't want to get lost again.    I've been searching your forum and you've already answered a lot of my questions.  From what I've gleaned it comes with Garmin's basemap.  I want more detail and am confused about purchasing the Garmin Topo 24 for $89.  Some of the reviews say its missing a lot of trails in Az.  Are there better or free maps here, or should I purchase it anyways?  We also Kayak once in a while so detail of rivers and lakes would be good.  God bless you all!

Follow the tutorials on this site and install the free maps on your computer, then see if you like them. If so, mission accomplished.
