i was wondering if you could combine two maps. i have the georgia topo loaded to mapsource and handheld. the ga. dnr has infra red maps of wildlife management areas with the boundries outlined. is there any way i can combine the two maps on mapsource? can i copy the boundary lines from the dnr provided maps to map on mapsource? any answers would be greatly appreciated. thanks ahead of time. :)

What kind of GPS do you have? With the Oregon, Dakota and Colorado you could make one of the new "custom maps" from the DNR data. See: http://forums.gpsfiledepot.com/index.php/topic,589.0.html

On an older Garmin unit, you would need to download the DNR data in the form of shapefiles (which should be available somewhere). The simplest way to turn this into a Garmin compatible map would probably be to use Mapwel: http://www.mapwel.eu/

Mapwel is not free however, and the files it creates are not compatible with Mapsource. But they work great on the GPS itself and the program is much more user-friendly than other methods of creating Garmin maps.
