"create mp file" memory allocation error

I am processing Dem2topo mp files and I get an error message "Unable to allocate memory: to make array - Processing stopped"

I have downloaded files using the 250MP maximum setting in the tutorial, and my files for Virginia are in the 232mb range.

What can I do to overcome this error?

I haven't seen that error before but then again I have lots of memory. How is your system configured?

Pentium (R) 4 cpu 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz, 1.25 GB of RAM
80 gig harddrive with 33 gigs of free space
