Hi there:

Trying to download the Mac version of this map:

w w w . gpsfiledepot . com/maps/view/836/

It never starts the download, and clicking the link to force the download doesn't work either.  Is it a bug or is the map simply not available?

Thanks

The number look familiar so I looked through my notes and 836 is CA-CentralProvTopo, one of the maps I made.  Is this what you are looking to download?  Try the link here and see if that works or copy and paste in your address bar.

There is also a click here if the map doesn't download after clicking on the original link.  If you are still having problems post your OS, browser used and it's version to help in troubleshooting.  I got it to start downloading with WIN10/Firefox78ESR.  Good Luck.

Seems to download OK on my 2018 Mac Mini running Catalina. It was going to take over 20 minutes, so I cancelled the download after about 30mb. Perhaps there was a problem with the site when you tried? Or maybe an ISP issue or something?

Can you download other maps? Are you running any kind of ad blockers or anti-virus software that might interfere?

Yes, this is what I was trying to download.  The download does not start automatically, and using the "click here" link doesn't start the download either.  Same with the link you provided.

This was on a Mac, using Chrome, "Version 93.0.4577.63 (Official Build) (x86_64)".  I tried disabling all my add-on, even tried through Incognito, no luck.

Not sure why I had not tried Safari, just did this morning and the download works fine, AFTER getting a popup asking me if I want to download files from GPSFileDepot.  I don't get this popup with Chrome.

I got the file so it's no big deal, but I'm curious as to why Chrome doesn't like it. (Or why the site doesn't like Chrome!)

No clue why Chrome didn't work, but I was using Safari on my Mac. It is standard behavior for it to ask if you want to allow downloads the first time you attempt it on a site. Seems like a good security feature, in case you inadvertently click on a download link or if it was disguised in some way to entice you to download some malware.

Glad you were able get the the file downloaded this morning.  I did a little digging about chrome not downloading and opening the developer console kept coming up in the troubleshooting steps OR just nuke the current setup and start over, if this is any help.
