Downloaded the 1.3 gb NW Topo into my documents and the only way, so far, I can see any maps is to burn a CD. Not acceptable, want them on my Montana not a CD.......

Is this the map? https://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/412/

If so, that map is not hosted here at gpsfiledepot, it is hosted on this site so you should probably contact them directly if you are having problems: http://www.switchbacks.com/nwtopos/

However, if you read the info at that page, it says you need to run the installer after downloading. The installer will place the map into Garmin Basecamp (or Mapsource, Garmin's older program). You can then send the map to your GPS.

Again, not familiar with that map, but typically the install process goes like this (for Windows)

https://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-open-maps-in-garmin-basecamp/

After you have installed the map into Basecamp, see my instructions for sending it to the GPS here: https://forums.gpsfiledepot.com/index.php?topic=4358.msg24074#msg24074

Not sure what you are talking about regaring "burning a CD". You may be making a wrong assumption there. Garmin uses the .img file extension for its map format. Unfortunately, that same extension is used for disk images in other software. These have nothing to do with Garmin maps, so if you see an indication that the file is a "disk image", it is bogus.
