Cant make a new contact Rino 750

A buddy and I just each got a Rino 750. Per the manual holding down the ptt or the signal button should bring up a new contact page on the other person's 750. This is not happening. The flag icon is not turning to a timer either which is making me think that the peer to peer positioning function is not working. Since peer to peer is supposed to be on by default, and I cant find anything at all anywhere on line or in the manual to help, I'm hoping someone on here can provide a suggestion. I know I'm just not doing something correctly.

Sorry, I think you're on the wrong site to find help with this issue. The GPSFileDepot forums exist primarily to support the free third party maps hosted here. Have you seen the videos on Garmin's site?

In my rino 530 & 650 I had to give the unit a name ( roy #1 ) then search for roy #1 with the other unit . It's been a few years so I don't recall all the details but maybe that gives you something to start with
