A simple Google search for "US states shapefile" brings up a number of free sources. There are various software packages that can convert this to .gpx if needed.

I tried a lot of searches, but would never have  tried shapefiles

I got a perfect GE (kml, kmz) file that's loads perfect to GE

see attachment(jpg file   the other is the GE file

but saving a 'sub region' as kml/kmz and loading to expertgps did not work

I can use gpsbabel, but I have no idear what to try with it?

any more ideas/help?
I am looking for a track(s) to load(or some thing I can convert to tracks)

tks greg R ???

Seldom

Try input "Google Earth (Keyhole) Markup Languqge" (KML)
output "GPX XML"  You may need to unzip a KMZ file.

ok  thats what i would guess, but their is hardly any info in the file, will try , it would have to be a real smart conversion, not just reformatting the data

the sub-region file is only 115 lines long???

this is what came out(nothing) loaded up, but nothing in it, the kmz/l has strange tytpes in it
