splitter maxnodes for GB

I am trying to find the optimum value of max nodes for splitter for the UK does anyone have a value which does not give " area to small to split " errors in MKgmap or is this not the solution to this problem ?

Not an expert with splitter, but this works for me in Utah.

java -Xmx4000m -jar splitter.jar --cache=. --max-nodes=1600000 --split-file=areasupto42.list --max-areas=255 us-west.osm.pbf

Areasupto42.list breaks down my area of interest into 1 degree squares.
