Brand new Garmin 60CSx.  2GB micro SD.

I am trying to install the Southeastern topo found here: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/101/

I have downloaded and installed so far:

  • the latest version of Mapsource
  • the latest version of MapsetToolkit
  • the Southeastern topo files

I followed the directions found here:
http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-maps-on-my-garmin-gps-unit/

The Map did not show up as an available map in Mapsource.  Could be I'm not putting the files in the right place to begin with.  If that's the case, how do I get Mapsource to recognize the SEUSA map?

However, since I did not see any sort of "setup" included in the SEUSA files, I went to these instructions:
http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-.img-files-into-mapsource-with-mapsettoolkit/

For MapsetToolkit, I followed the directions at the bottom of the page since a .tdb file exists with the SEUSA files.  I put in the Registry name, browsed and found the .tdb file (SEUSA.tdb), and also chose the correct Overview map (SEUSA.img).  However, when I hit Install, I get a Popup message that says "Family ID exist."  That's as far as it'll go.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.  That was my suspicion.  I couldn't get MapSource to recognize the map images though.  Kept getting a "There was a problem with the SEUSA installation..." message.

I finally reloaded everything one more time, and it appears to be working.  In fact, the map data is loading onto the device while I'm typing this.
