I everybody,

I'm trying to put some maps on a from Garmin bought Micro SD Card, using Garmin MapInstall.
I follow every step from the 'How to....., by Dan Blomberg... When MapInstall gets to the point were it is transferring the mapsets onto the MSD Card, it is stalling and the time remaining runs up to over 4 to 5 hours.
Eventually it says that:The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off. , which is not the case. It is still there.
This happens with what ever map/ parts of maps I want to put on the MSD Card. When I open the card I see a Garmin folder in there, sometimes with a gmapsupp.img file. There is nothing there, no maps, when I put it into my Dakota 20!
I have Garmin MapInstall 4.0.0 software  and Mac OS X 10.7.3 software.

The question is what do I do, or what goes wrong and how can I fix it? :-\

By ' ... from Garmin bought Micro SD Card ... ' are you refering to a micro-memory card with a prerecorded Garmin mapset on it?
The advice I have seen on those is to NOT add additional mapset data as doing so may corrupt the original mapset data.

Thanx everyone,

It finally works.
I used an other cardreader.
Now when I put the Card into my Dakota 20,
there is only the BaseMap and not the maps MapInstall put on the card.
And yes I do know how the turn maps on and off on the Dakota.

The card info, copied from Disk Utility Info.
The Number of Folders isn't right and the Number of Files isn't right.
There is a Garmin folder on the card with a gmapsupp.img 3,05 GB file.
The Used Bytes are right.
What is or went wrong?
Is it a MapInstall problem, a Dakota problem or a user problem?
