Garmin Custom Map location on iMac

I just replaced my iMac, and so I'm going through the tedious process of making sure that all my old files are on the new iMac. Although Apple's automatic transfer method didn't work for me, I had TimeMachine keep backups of Documents, Preferences, User Library folder, etc for me (thankfully!)

I had created some custom maps in Google Earth and brought them into BaseCamp. Those files, I found just fine. Some other maps, I georeferenced in Google Earth, but never sent them over to BaseCamp. Those files, I have no idea where to look.

Ideas from Mac users as to where I'd find those map files?

Well, of course they could be anywhere, I don't think there's a standard location.  In the Finder I would use File > Find and type .kmz into the search box. .kml is the other format that Google uses.

BTW, I'm surprised you had a problem migrating to a new Mac. I replaced my dying 2008 MacBook Pro with a new MacBook Air a week ago and was concerned about transition issues to Lion as well as completely different internal architecture. During setup I just plugged my time machine backup into the new Mac and went out for a walk. When I returned, literally everything was where it was supposed to be, all of my software (some of it very old) works and even my arrangement of icons on the desktop and dock is identical. I have been through MANY Macs since 1985 and this was by far the most painless transition ever.

Yeah, not sure what the transition problem was. My old Mac's HD was completely dead, so I was using my Time Machine HD for the backups. Maybe that was part of the hitch. Also something with usernames either not being the same or being the same or some such made it hard to see both Library folders. Couldn't remember some of those old settings and had no way of seeing them until I got started. But... All's well, now, in that regard. My experience with Macs since '84 came in handy.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I searched the backup drive for .kmz and .kml already; I'll look again. I still have the .jpg files, and it's only 7 of them so no biggie to redo the referencing, I was just hoping to not have to do it again.
