It is due to a corrupted waterbody polygon.  Redownloaded the Wake Co. areawater from Census and that is the way they show it.  The data is corrupted in their files.  I do not have the Ibycus mapset, nor the March, 2008 Census files - how does Ibycus show the area?

None of the data sets we use to build these mapsets were created/designed for the purposes we use them for.  The average user will not be aware of these limitations, but they should be.  Until the source of the data makes the corrections, we have to do the best be can.  I could easly point out more errors/issues than there would be time to correct them before the next version for the data is made available - and if they are not corrected by the source, they would have to be corrected again; and again until the source did correct it.

Should I attempt to add and reposition vertices for the polygon to make it look better (conform with the contours), or leave it as the source shows it and let the user(s) make the obvious(?) correction in their mind?
