Hi
I am quite new to this and would like someone to help me please ~ could you tell me how to get rid of a map I downloaded from your site onto BaseCamp please as I was practicing how to do it but I really won't use it and want to remove it from BaseCamp but don't know how. It is 121-3653-nebraska_ topo_install.exe it came out of a zip file and installed itself into BaseCamp.

Also could you explain how to just back up a track in BaseCamp ~ I know I click on File/Backup/ then call it mytrack.baseCamp and it saves into folder but when I click on restore a window opens and says Restoring BaseCamp requires restarting the Application - continue? so why would I have to restart ?
So dull am I but very trying.....

I think if you locate the directory where you first installed the map you'll find an uninstall.exe Run that and you should be good to go.
Can't help with the second question on backup, sorry

Yes, you should find an uninstall file in the same directory as the map. But if you don't know where that is, use the Windows control panel to install and uninstall programs ("programs and features" on Win Vista and Win 7). You will find a listing for the map there; just run the uninstaller.

I don't use basecamp much, but it sounds like you are barking up the wrong tree. I think that feature is intended for restoring data when you move between different machines or after a crash. You should be able to save or export the track directly as either a .gdb or .gpx file. Look at the Basecamp help menu.

Hi
Thanks for reply ~ I have looked in the 'Add/Remove but it's not there, I have looked through the Basecamp folder and can't find it there either nothing seems to resemble the .exe file only the installation file that came out of the zip folder.
Thanks

Boyd

Weird. In that case, download and run Mapsettoolkit: http://sites.google.com/site/cypherman1/

It will list all the maps that are installed on your system. Select the one you want to delete and click the uninstall button. That will remove the Windows registry entries and the map will no longer appear in Basecamp or Mapsource. But it will not actually remove the files - you will need to do that yourself manually.

This map has an uninstaller, it is in the folder you installed the mapset into.

C:\Program Files\netopo11

is where the installer installs the mapdata and uninstaller.
