Hi
Just bought a garmin gps map 60cx. I downloaded some Ohio toppos but they came
in as a bunch of disk image files. What do I do now ?

Have you even installed Mapsource or Basecamp on your computer yet? Please tell us exactly everything you HAVE done so far.

I followed the tutorial, and when I click install, I get an error:
"family id exists"
Don't know what I am doing wrong.
What exactly is mapsource doing with the image files ??

Sounds like you may have tried to install the same map twice, or possibly you installed the map before you installed mapsource? First, have you seen this tutorial:
http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-open-maps-in-mapsource/
That is how you would normally install a map, and how you would view it in Mapsource. If you can't find the map this way, go to the windows control panel for installing/removing software. Look through the list and you should find the map listed along with all your other programs. Uninstall it.
Now run the map installer again and see if that fixes it.
