Hey guys,

I'm currently deciding on what software to buy. I would like all of the US streets and topo, but I'd also like to be able to route streets.

How much of the US can I get on an SD card if I buy the dvd version of the 100k or 24k maps?

I'm a hunter who travels from time to time, and I'm just looking for the most economical and efficient way.

The 100k DVD or SD cards will not do street routing. That may affect your decision.  You could get City navigator and then use the free topos here.

It will cost a bit to get complete US coverage of the 24k topo maps; those do auto-routing.

TOPO USA 24K(CONUS only) comes on 6 DVD's @ US$129.99 each (US$779.94) or 12 datacards @ US$99.00 each (US$1199.88)

City Navigator NA (Canada/USA/Mexico) DVD MSRP:US$79.99

It depends on what GPS you have. Older units like the 60csx and eTrex lines can only access 2025 map segments. Newer units like the Oregon and Dakota can access 4000 segments. The DVD version of US Topo 100k (aka US topo 2008) has about 6,600 segments. So the old units could only handle about 1/3 of the US and newer units could load about 2/3 of the DVD version.
