Garmin 450 "shifty screen" problem

My nearly new Garmin unit has a bug!  About 1/3 of the time when I turn it on, the screen shifts to the las page of icons on its own, then bounces back and forth.  I can't open any of the pages and have to turn the unit off and try again, sometimes 6 or 8 tries till it works properly again.

Any clues on how to fix?

If it is new enough, take it back.  Else contact Garmin to exchange/replace the unit.

Seems to me I've heard of a similar problem before. Definitely take it back to the vendor for an exchange, you shouldn't have to deal with that on a new unit.
