ArcGIS to Garmin GPS

When I send only my map to the GPS, it doesn't show up and trying to select it in the GPSr results in a freeze-up.

I also discovered that my .shp files are saved in NAD 1983 Projections, and I assume in coordinate system of lat/long...however...when I make these changes in GPSMapEdit, I can't view my .shp files.

After you have sent your map to the GPSr
1) it does not show on screen or
2) it is not listed as an installed map
3)both of the above
4)you are still able to view map in mapsource prior to uploading to GPSr

Have to pick the old gray matter a moment ref. your NAD 83
When you first load your shape file you select this criteria. When selecting NAD 83 the software may be staying on it's default values for
Coordinate system on the drop down menu box, may need changing to conform to .SHP files
Zone # may also need adjustment so lat/lon co-ords are selecting the proper area to conform to the area the SHP files are identifying.
