Has anyone seen behavior like this?

Zoom here is 0.7 miles.
When zoomed out I get a continous map.
When I zoom in I get varying gaps.  The gap occurs on the tile above a tile border.

Zoom here is 0.5 miles.
Zooming in further reduces the gap, but doesn't eliminate it.

Zoom here is 0.2 miles

Zoom here is 800 feet.

This is a routable map, and the routes can generate through the blank area.  The magenta route was drawn at the .7 mile zoom, with all the map visible.  The green route was drawn on the .5 mile zoom, mostly through the blank area.  Compiler is mkgmap.  Display is Mapsource 16.6.1 beta.

This problem doesn't exist when compiled with mkgmap r1173.

Changing the detail level doesn't affect the size of the blank band, but I did discover that Control-G is a handy way to flush MapSource's and BaseCamp's image buffers.  Without Control-G both programs seem to share each others' imagery, even if the IMG files have been replaced.

that is good to know about CTRL-G; i really need to try out mkgmap esp since cgpsmapper apparently jacked up all the names on the Arizona Topo
