Using Mac and Chrome 127.0.6533.89, download from gpsfiledepot does nothing (no error message, just no-op). But Safari worked. Thanks.

Suggestion: make gpsfiledepot work more reliably with Chrome. I see that others have had similar problems in the past: https://forums.gpsfiledepot.com/index.php?topic=4923.0

jmgreene - Did you ever find a working link to download it? The wayback machine links were dead as well.

Sorry you're having trouble, but it must be on your end. Just downloaded all of the links that you posted, it was very fast, each one took less than a minute.

Since these are Mac versions, were you using a Mac? I used Safari on MacOS Monterey here with no problems. However, just tried downloading that first Map with Chrome on the same Mac and nothing happened. Then I tried the same download with Microsoft Edge on the same Mac and got an error that it "couldn't be downloaded securely".

Not sure what's going on, but try using Safari on the Mac.

Using The Maps/Garmin Software / Are all downloads broken here?
Last post by PaulHeckbert - July 30, 2024, 09:37:55 AM
Are all downloads broken here? GPSFileDepot used to work for me, the previous times I needed it, months ago, but not now.

I tried Montana Topo + National Forests 2023 Map for Mac (https://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/87/downloadmac/)
... nothing happens when I try to download, last week and again today

I tried Big Desert Southwest Map for Mac (https://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/701/downloadmac/)
... nothing happens

I tried MidWest Topo United States Map for Mac (https://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/162/downloadmac/)
... nothing happens

I tried Pennsylvania Topo Map for Mac (which I downloaded from here years ago, but don't need again, https://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/198/downloadmac/)
... nothing happens

Is GPSFileDepot broken? If not, how can I get it to work?

GPSr Units / Garmin Tracgk manager not show...
Last post by stansas - July 10, 2024, 08:22:34 PM
I have a Garmin Montana 650t and none of the 44 tracks are appearing in The Track Manager. My screen has Current Track then Archived Track then my 44 different tracks should show up.  It's just blank. I have a few in the Archived bucket so the screen is working but I don't know how to get the other 44 tracks to show up. If  I hook the Montana to my computer using base camp they will show in my computer so they are still in a the Montana Garmin.gpx file.  Has anyone had a similar problem. Is there an option that I turned off that is keeping the tracks from showing?
Thanks for any help

I just looked it up, it's a watch!  I'm not sure how easily mine will work or look as I didn't create them for a watch https://www.gmaptool.eu/en has some Canadian maps he has made for the Fenix which may be another option, and the mapmaker, popej seems by all accounts a good guy

The map came from this site. I am working with a Garmin quatix7 which is very new to me. I won it as a prize. I am still figuring out everything it can do.
I will attempt to load the file directly.
I am working on a PC and windows10.

jdevlin,

Forget map set toolkit!!!

The .img file is meant to be copied to the Garmin folder on your gps device.  There are roundabout ways to see it on your computer but can be a pita.  If you would like to see in Basecamp follow what is written below, it is also on the map download page.  If you are wanting the map on you computer go back and download the "Mac" version and follow the instructions below

The "Windows" version is the .img file and can be directly copied or installed to the Garmin folder on your GPS (on older, single mapset devices mapname may need to be renamed gmapsupp.img), or copied to Orux/mapfiles folder.  Orux is available on the Google Play Store or for free at the authors website, https://www.oruxmaps.com/cs/en/more/downloads.  To view in Basecamp on Windows use the "Mac" version, after extracting and opening to mapaname.gmap, mapset can be placed in the Windows C:/ProgramData/Garmin/Maps folder (may need to un-hide and create)  or installed to Mac using it's install process.
