GPSr Units / Re: Beta software

4.49 has been working great for me.  First time I've ever gotten a WAAS lock.
Walking around reported accuracies have improved noticeably as well as true distances to previous noted waypoints dramatically reduced.

Looks like Garmin released some new betas yesterday

Will install after work.
Hoping in the "Fixed issues relating to WAAS performance."

Been on 4.47 on the 450t for a week now.  Has worked very well, only noticed one bug.  As I was approaching my destination once the distance only flipped between 44 and 45 feet, regardless of direction or distance I walked.  Cleared the problem by pulling/reinstalling the batts.
Looking forward to another beta or the gold release.

I've just installed my first beta, the latest Oregon x50.  I was tempted by the 'improved GPS performance' listings in the changelog.  Been only a short time, but I haven't seen any bugs and comparing old and new tracks the GPS does seem to be more accurate.  Nothing major, but nice to see.

maps4gps, just wanted to give you a quick thanks.  I've used either of the two maps listed in the op daily for a week now and they are great.  Looking forward to trying others when I travel.

GPSr Units / Oregon 450t belt clip
April 22, 2011, 12:04:05 PM
I bought my Oregon 450t as an open-box return.
Is the belt clip supposed to come with a D-ring carabiner?

New here and getting a feel for things.
Wondering about the "Top US Topos" column on the custom maps page.
The two states I want most, PA and MD, are not listed.  Does that mean their topos are of less quality?
I checked the description of a few of the listed states and they had a nice summary with pictures comparing to Garmin and another.  PA and MD don't have those comparisons.
Can I assume that they will not be better than the Garmin 100k my device came with?
