General Discussion / USB 3.0 speed not so fast.
September 29, 2016, 03:08:12 PM
I downloaded a 2.3Gb .img map onto my computer.

I've read that I can put the .imp directly onto a SD card and the GPS will read it.

I plugged a USB cable into the 3.0 ports on the back of my computer and into my Nuvi 780. The Nuvi has a 4Gb SD card installed as drive N:.

I am transferring the .img file to the SD card in the Nuvi, but the transfer rate is about 335Kb/s. Is that the expected speed for such a transfer? Is there a faster way?

I have a Garmin Quest that is said to have 115Mb memory installed.

I want to use this for outdoors in northern Illinois and the internal map is almost useless.

How do I find out how much memory is still available on the Quest?

Hello folks,

I have a Garmin Quest given to me by my nephew. Accessories but no software disc.

I want to put a topo map on Quest, but want to backup the original map first.

How can I do this? I have BootCamp, (prefered) and MapSource.

Thanks,
Harry
