Is it possible to have subfolders in the garmin folder that has the .img file?  Can I have a folder called MI and one called Texas, each containing a specific .img file?  Or is it just simpler to load every map tile from MI to TX and call it good?  Seems like I would have a lot of map tiles that I will not use and thus the redraw rate of the device will work slower.

Thanks.

Well, aint that hunky dory.  Thanks, Boyd.  Like I said, the maps here are better than anything made by a company.  Kudos to all who contributed to my happiness.

And thanks again for taking time to answer my question.  I absolutely appreciate it.

With my 60csx came a DVD entitled Topo 100k.  I thought I was getting Topo 2008.  Is there much difference between these two?  Which has the more detail for frogging through the bush?  Is it worth having Garmin send me the Topo 2008 and I'll send back the Topo 100k.

Of course, I am no world traveller and the Michigan TOPO here beats them all, hands down.

Thanks.

Mike, who has to play with his new device  :)

GPSr Units / Batteries for the 60csx

Manual says either alkaline or those Nhik (sp) ones.  Does that mean I cannot use Lithium batteries in this unit?

OMG!  There is is now...for some reason.  I think this time, I loaded BC, then hooked up the device and there it was.

Thanks for taking time for my questions.  Best forum for Garmin.....hands down.

I see nowhere in any toolbar where my device is listed.  Do I need some special driver or something?  Mapsource sees it.

Thanks

Ok, got it!  I feel so stupid sometimes asking such a question.

Thanks.

Man, there sure are a lot of choices out there for these Micro SD cards.  I understand about half of the details in the descriptions.  Is there one brand or Class or whatever better than another?  I usually shop Newegg.com.

I understand the 60CSx can only handle just over 2000 map segments.  When I select maps with the map tool in MapSource, is each yellow rectangle ONE map segment?

Thanks.

Thanks to everyone who made the maps on this site available to us.  I recently used the Michigan TOPO and it was one of the most accurate maps I have seen.  I am certain that all the maps here are just as accurate.  Much better than anything else out there.

Thank you map makers and map contributors!

Thanks a bunch, folks!!!

I have noticed that the waypoint symbols in MapSource sometimes don't match those on my Venture HC.  I will soon be the owner of a new 60CSx unit and wonder if the waypoint symbols in that unit will match MapSource better.

Thanks for a great site and great folks running it.

Oh..I see.  Now, they want to be technically correct about it.  :)  What a world.
So, now I call my Venture HC a GPSr instead of a GPS? :)

Thanks for the reply.  I appreciate it and can't wait to use this info... :)
