REI has the Garmin Oregon 600 on sale right now for about 220, not bad for a 400 gps

You want to have the 100k topo names displayed on the map, I found Lake City fairly fast:

(click image to supersize it)

Also, you can search the attribute table of the shapefile I attached with:
QUAD_NAME = 'Lake City'

Split this off from the What Garmin GPS should I buy thread as it has nothing to do with the subject

Map Making Support / Global Mapper updates
February 28, 2015, 06:55:39 AM
Global Mapper users, what version are you using? The current version is 16.1.

With Blue Marble Geographics acquiring Global Mapper, the price of updates is rising to a level that I'm not sure is sustainable to hobby map authors.

The full current version of ARCGIS is available for only US$100/year and I think that might be a more cost efficient route.

Any thoughts?

Can you post the link to the map you're refering to, I don't see a Topo Spain under Spain maps here.

If you plug the gps into your computer, BaseCamp should display a factory installed map. Works that way on my Montana 650t.

Sorry that you had issues. With over 1.5 million downloads, someone will have problems sooner or later. If you can be clear about what instructions and what you are looking to do, we can most likely solve your issue. If you just want to vent, then there's no way to help you out.

Another issue is that water levels change. This can be adjusted for on certain boating units but it will never be that accurate.

Rain or gloves never bothered me using my Oregon or Montana. iPhone for sure, but not either of my touch screen GPSr.
