GPSr Units / Turn tracking off on 62s?

Is there a way to turn the tracking and/or the trip computer "off" until you want to start them, or do you just use the reset? It seems that I could turn these off on my old 60csx

Using The Maps/Garmin Software / Elevation profile on 62s?

Hi, newbie here from Seattle. I have a new 62s and loaded the NW Topo map, but found I couldn't generate an elevation profile. I do love all the trail data, such as Tiger and Cougar mountain. I am assuming I need to use the Garmin 24k Topo product and the overlay the trails file from here? Will I get the same trails and POIs?
