General Discussion / Garman Basecamp problems
September 21, 2013, 08:12:07 PM
I purchased a e-trex 30 earlier in the year and managed to load maps through garman basecamp just fine after what seemed like weeks of trying, I just picked up 2 older Rinos and for some reason  basecamp keeps saying no device is connected, what am I doing wrong.

I managed to load a few maps on my etrex-30 some how, the problem I had was in the device itself they had to be enabled to view the map, so they were loaded but I didn't know it, I got my Trails one that will be most valuable for me since I do a lot of wilderness back packing, and the Washington Topo map, plus Northwest trails. I still cant load the private land ownership and the game management unit maps but at least I'm on the right track, if anyone knows of any other free maps for Central Washington I can load let me know, Thanks.

Its becoming apparent that I'm not the only one having trouble downloading maps to my device, I have read the many other questions presented by other users on this site and one can only come to the same conclusion that there needs to be an better way of downloading maps, one question I have regarding importing maps is it nessassary to have a memory card installed, I'm getting conflicting reports.

I have a windows system PC, and am still trying to down load the topo maps on my computer been trying unsuscessfully now for quite some time, a little dissappointed in my self because i'm not sure if the problem lies in my computer or the software.

Well first off I have to say that I'm not much of a computer geek so I'm already at a disadvantage, so I managed to install the Garman base camp on my computer and next I downloaded the washington topo map, the basic one not sure what it was even called, I have it installed on my computer but cant figure out how to load it on my device, I also tryed to install the northwest topo map on my computer with no luck, it was unable to load not sure why, Help

I just recenntly purchased a Garman e-trex 30 and I need a good map of washington state that shows good detail, I do a lot of wilderness hiking and hunting, I managed to get the basic topo map off here but it lacks in detail, is there another option thats free, or do I have to buy the map for 99.00 dollars ?
