Thanks

Talk about dumb. Did not even realise there was a snip tool.

Now on to the rest. Will report how I make out.

Thanks again

Map Making Support / G-Raster / Google Earth

Help for newbie please.

Read the GRaster page and downloaded. Started to follow the good instructions. Here is where I am stuck. I wanted to take an image from Google to give me a good natural layout on a part of a Georgia topo (from this site). The instructions call for the section of map from the Georgia topo to be imported into Google as a jpeg etc. How can I copy part of the Georgia map to use as a jpeg. gif etc? I opened the Georgia topo in baseCamp but see no way of copying a section.

Probably a simple answer, but not until one knows how.

thanks

Hi

New to the site and glad to see someone win when tilting against entrenched forces with the wrong attitude.

Congratulations

Thanks  maps4gps

Yet again another useful lesson in simplicity.

I thought one had to disable ANY may one was not using. Even the world base map.

Thanks

Hi

So much frustration and such a simple answer. Thank you for the education.  Had to look up the coordinates for , say, Charleston and then scroll across and down and then zoom in. Great help.

Thanks again.

Brand new to all this map stuff... need help.

I have a Oregon 300 (Software version 4.2, GPS software version 5.0 ) and am using BaseCamp version 3.2.2. Computer is PC with windows 7 64 bit.

I loaded the Canada V4 maps from Garmin with no problem and they show properly on the 300. I wish to go south later for some kayaking in South Carolina and Georgia so to start downloaded the SC topo map from this site. I followed all the tutorials and got it into BaseCamp with little difficulty. I then used BaseCamp to move it to the 300 and all was good according to the screen. First mistake was over writing my Canada topo. Oh well, another lesson learned. Enabled the SC topo but it would not show up on the map. Started fresh and reloaded Canada topo onto the device (works fine). Then loaded SC topo onto a memory card in the 300. Now had choice of maps. Disabled the Canada topo and enabled the SC topo. Still no SC topo on the map screen. Changed profiles, adjusted various settings but still no joy.

Tried a SE USA topo and had the same results.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Martin
