My Dakota 20 has the newest update, everything works fine but when I move the Birdeye files to the microSD car it won't diplay them.  They still show up in enable/disable map and on Basecamp as being on the card, but no display.  They work if I put them on internal memory.  Why is it so hard to design a handheld GPS that is simple to use?

Mod note: Edited topic subject and moved to correct forum so that you might get some help

I updated the MapInstall program on my PC and now the topo 100k maps I have installed on my Dakota 20 are no longer visible.  I know this was a problem with older versions but a few revisions ago that got fixed, as well as the delection of all exisiting maps when you loaded a new one.  What gives?

I'm one of the handful that can't get high speed internet connection at home, thanks to AT&T (you suck). It's not like I'm out in the sticks.  Anyway I bought the 100K topo but didn't open it yet, and it says a high speed connection is needed.  For what?  I thought the files were on the DVD?

I am upgrading from a Magellan Sporttrack to a Garmin Dakota.  I have a about 10 waypoint folders with 20 or so waypoints in each that I need to covert.  Any new developments with this in the past year, any free software that can do this?  I have ArcMap on my PC if that helps but am not that proficient with it.

Thanks for all the help, you guys are great.

Just bought a Dakota 20, my first Garmin after 2 Magellan GPS's so I'm not familiar with them.  With the Topo 100k maps, can you just load a region (part of the map), or do you have to load the entire map?  If you can load a specific area I take it you can do that with basecamp, or does Topo 100k come with software (like Magellan Mapsend Topo)?  Odd but I have not seen anything that says you can do this and how.  Also is the micro SD card an expandable memory or is it like a separate drive?  In other words, if the topo maps are 3.2 gb and I add a 3.0 gb card is that all I need?  Thanks.
