GPSr Units / etrex 30 error, "invalid JNX file" ???
November 15, 2013, 08:59:10 PM
My etrex 30 just started with an error message when I first power it on.  The message reads, "invalid JNX file".  When I push "OK" at the bottom of the screen the unit starts-up normally and appears to operate normally.

Any ideas why this just started with my unit?

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: Never mind, figured it out.  JNX is the file type used to store Birdseye images.  I had an incomplete demo download of Birdseye and that created the error.  Plugged in the device, went into the Garmin folder and then into the Birdseye folder and deleted the JNX file.  Problem solved.

First of all, thanks to GPS File Depot for the great resource!  I followed your tutorials and had zero issues installing a map to BaseCamp, and then to a microSD, and finally into my eTrex 30.  All went just as described in the tutorials and the map functions perfectly.

Now the issue.  I tried installing additional maps to my 8G ScanDisk card and each map I download over-writes the last map so in the end I just have one map, not three as I have tried to install.

I formatted the card to, FAT32 to start with as suggested in one of threads in here.

Ideas?

Thanks for any help.
