Hi,

I just upgraded from version 1 to version 2.1, and my types are not displayed correctly.
- for any POI icon, the background appears red instead of transparent;
- all lines are only basic single lines.
All types appear correctly in the selection box, but not on the map.
Any idea?

Hi,

I have designed a new map using GPSMapEdit, and uploaded it in my Nuvi 1370 using BaseCamp, etc.
Now I can see my map in a subdirectory map/gmapsupp.img

If I want to give this map to some friend, can I just send him the file so he can copy it into his Nuvi, or do I have absolutely to use BaseCamp again on his unit?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have a map in GPSMapEdit, export it in Garmin format, install it in BaseCamp with cGPSMapper, finally install it into my Garmin with BaseCamp.
All elements are defined in level 0.

Question: who is in charge in this process for defining simplified version of lines and polygons to be used for levels 1, 2,...?
- Myself im GPSMapEdit?
- GPSMapEdit?
- cGPSMapper?
- BaseCamp?

Hi,

Has anyone been succesful in defining custom types for polylines in GPSMapEdit ?
For instance, I have the following declaration:

[_line]
Type=0x2c
UseOrientation=Y
String1=0x04,Unpaved
String2=0x01,Chemin VTT
XPM="8 8 4 1"
" c none"
", c #ffffff"
". c #000000"
"X c #ff0000"
" "
" "
"........"
"XXXX,,,,"
"XXXX,,,,"
"........"
" "
" "
[end]

Problems:
1º it seems that no definition is accepted if the image is not in a sqare (same nb of pixels for X and Y)
2º Here, the transparent color is not transparent but white
3º no rotation of the image is performed (see image)

Mod note: please use the code tags when posting code, K?

Hi,

I'm getting better and better using GPSMapEdit.
I've found how to extend element to a certain level, but I can't find how to m0dify their level definition in the first place.
Fort instance, I have items defined at level 1, their disapear when zoomed at level 0.
I've found how to change the data1= line to dat0= in the .mp file, but their must be a better way to do it in MapEdit?

So how can I
1 decide the level when defining elements?
2 modify their level after?

Thanks

Hi,

I have this kind of POI in my map:

[POI]
Type=0x1604
Label=3
EndLevel=3
Data0=(46.90578,-75.10477)
[END]

It is supposed to be a red triangle, but it does not appear on the map, at any zoom level.

However, I have other POIs like elevation point:
[POI]
Type=0x6300
Label=4
EndLevel=3
Data0=(46.90510,-75.10975)
[END]

and these work normally.
If I change my 0x1604 POI for type 0x6300, it also appears at the right place at a certain zoom level.

So I conclude that type 0x1604 is not supported by my Nuvi 1370.
My question: is there a list of POI type supported by Garmin somewhere ?

Thanks

I've made a new map using GPSMapedit, Mapset tool kit and BaseCamp.
I can open it in BaseCamp and load it into my Nuvi 1370.
The problem is that it seems to ignore it: The map is not listed in Maps - info.
Furthermore, when I display my area and zoom out, when the area coverd by the new map comes in the range, nothing is displayed.
I've downsized the map to a ridiculously small sample but it makes no difference. There must be somthing wrong with the file, but what?
I've attached this sample.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

Hi,

I followed this http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-.img-files-into-mapsource-with-mapsettoolkit/ tutorial. Every thing went well untill
"22. Now you can open MapSource or BaseCamp and see your map."

I open BaseCamp, and ... I don't see my map.

Any hint ?
