Thank you for the response!  The thread was helpful.  Not sure why it worked, but I went ahead and downloaded the "My Trails" map.  It installed and I was able to open it in Base Camp, however, it seemed that the entire map did not load.....anyway, I then closed Base Camp, then ran the installer for the map I am interested in (NE TOPO) once again, and this time, the installer went through a process of unzipping all the files automatically, and when complete, I opened Base Camp and was now able to see the map successfully via the dropdown menu!
Obviously, this process is not very intuitive, but nonetheless, successful!
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
Must be that the installer for the NE TOPO is not designed for Windows 7/64????

I successfully downloaded the Northeast TOPO United States Part1 from the GPS FileDepot.
However, not sure about the next step, that is, how to "see it".  I downloaded the map, and it is stored in a folder which contains hundreds of zipped files.  I then downloaded Basecamp.  I read the tutorial on how to open a map in Basecamp, but am having difficulty getting Basecamp to find the map.  The drop down menu does not show it, and the "Import" function is greyed out.
I am sure I am missing something basic, but am hoping for some advice.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the files being zipped?  If so, when I right click on the folder, there is no option available to "Extract all".
I am running Windows 7, 64 bit.
Thank you very much for any help!
