Let me try to rephrase my question. If I purchase a garminmap 60csx GPS that I cannot add to my own account at Garmin because it has not been deleted from previous owners account - - Like if I get one used from ebay or where ever. I need to know if I am going to be able to put maps on it for my area from this site. I would rather use free ones if possible.

Just trying to figure in the total cost of any unit I buy. Like can I use it with free maps or must I buy maps or am I totally not going to be able to put more maps on at all?

Lost my Garminmap GPSmap 60csx Thinking of buying another used one. If I can not register it at Garmin will I still be able to put my state's map on it for trails etc?

Trying to learn to use the gpsmap 60csx, my first gps unit. I have map source and I have NW Trails loaded into map source.  Will "send to device" gpsmap 60csx erase the existing map?

Do I need to take out the current microSD card to save the map the gps came with? Then get another microSD card to put NW Trails map on?

NW Trails is an overlay map so how do I get it to overlay onto existing map without erasing it? Any help is appreciated. thanks

I am wondering which unit would be better? I know they are the same unit except the 400t comes with pre loaded topo map of the US. So my question is ...is it worth it to get the topo pre loaded and not be able to have that map in MapSource for trip/route planning? Or are the custom maps here a better way to go with the 300 model?  thanks in advance

Thanks so much for the reply....a big help. I will stop trying for 2 maps at once in mapsource and impatienly wait for my Oregon to arrive. 

 If you wish for Northwest Trails to overlay another mapset such as (topo USA), you will need to upload all of the chosen maps at once...... Does this only apply for loading onto a GPS reciever or can we do it in mapsource too? I would like to see it overlaid on the topo USA west map in mapsource if possible.  I can only seem to get one map at a time in mapsource. Thanks

Hi, I have just ordered a Garmin Oregon 300 and wanted to have some maps ready to go when it arrives. I have mapsource and imgburn loaded on my computer. I have already used mapsource and have a map that I can look at in mapsource.

I would really like to get the Northwest Trails in the custom map section here but I don't see any way to download it. Do I need some other tool like MapSetToolkit or ?. Can some one please tell me how to get Northwest Trails onto my computer so I can use it in mapsource. Thanks
