Thanks for the information. I downloaded the Desert Southwest file and installed it. Haven't transferred it to my 62sc yet.

GPSr Units / GPSMAP 62sc

Is the Garmin TOPO US 24K Southwest a good map for this unit. I have  read elsewhere that there is too much detail for the small screen on the 62. If not could someone recommend a good topo for Utah, specifically the Moab area.
Thanks

GPSr Units / Re: Zagg Screen Protector

GPSCITY is a great company to do business with. Great prices, Great price matching policy, awesome customer service/support, fast shipping and a great return policy. I know because I purchased a GPSMAP 62sc and it was defective. Called and explained the problem and got an rma # and voiler. The USA store is in Las Vegas NV. I have been using Zagg on all of my screens (no touch screens though) and have never had a problem. Zagg has replaced them for me for the cost of shipping. Just my experiences with these companies.

GPSr Units / GPSMap 62sc Track Order

I have looked all over and have found no answer. Is there a way to order the tracks on the GPSMap 62sc? I have them ordered alphabetically in Base Camp but they don't transfer that way. I have 50 or so tracks and can find no rime or reason to the ordering, alphabetical would be my first choice.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've purchased many units on eBay with no issues. If it's a used Garmin item you must simply ask if it has been registered, and if they can take their name off of it on the Garmin registration site. When that is done, you can register it to your name.
No real issue at all, if you ask the question.
You must be aware though that some maps that might be for sale, may already be registered to a Garmin unit, and you will not be able to put them on your Garmin unit.
As before, ask the question. If they are legit, they will give you an answer. And always, if you buy, and it doesn't work correctly, you can file for a refund. If your complaint is genuine, you'll get your money back.
What would you use for a receipt if you needed to get warranty work done? "A copy of the original sales receipt is required as the proof of purchase for warranty repairs. Online auction confirmations are not accepted for warranty verification and Garmin will not replace any missing components from any package purchased through an online auction"

As far as registration, it seems the unit is linked to the seller's "My Garmin" account. Contact the seller and ask them to remove that unit from their account and then you will be able to add it to yours.
Thank you for this post, it saved me from buying on ebay. I thought it would be safe since It was NEW still in box.
Thanks again.

Hey, thanksfor the replies. I did see something in the manual about excessive vibration and excessive heat so yoy guys hit it right on the head, thanks. I guess i will have to buy a new one designed for outdoor use. FYI .ram-mount makes a nice waterproof box called Aqua Box.
OOPS! Looks like I may give it a try.

GPSr Units / Off-Road Use

Hi everyone.
Can someone tell me if it is ok to use the Garmin 1690lmt mounted in a water/dust proof case on my ATV. I don't do anything extreme, just some trail riding with my wife on the back. I have searched all over the web and don't find anything either way so I'm thinking I will have to choke up another three bills for an outdoor model...hope not. Your thoughts and experience will be appreciated. Thanx
