Well I have posted the same link to Garmin's forums twice now... That is the correct place to go to discuss bugs in Garmin's software, since GPSFileDepot has no affiliation with Garmin.

I just saw that the second link looks different than the first. I will try that. Thanks for your help. I understand that GPSFileDepot has no affiliation. I just figured maybe some one here had had the same experience as me. Thank you again for the link. I will see what I can find out over at Garmin.

If I open a window with the device contents on my Mac while connected via USB the maps are there, albeit in a bit different format than before, but they are there.
Just curious, what did you see?  And can't you even select your 100k topo basemap?

Sorry. I didn't understand your post at first. I miss read it. I thought you were asking me what I saw when I clicked on the Garmin link.

When I opened up the device, everything is there that was there before. I don't remember what the format of the maps was. I have already deleted them and gone back to version 2.6.

I clicked on the link and it just took me to the download for the MapInstall 4.0.0.

It was not the support forum.

I took the 100K base map off to save space since I didn't need it, and that hasn't been a problem up until the point.

I looked at your link, but I didn't see anything that answers my issues, did I miss something?

I updated both. Still not sure why the maps install, but then do not show up on device. I guess it's not really a crisis since I still have version 2 and it works.

I was prompted today to updated my Map Installer to version 4.0 (or something of that sort) so I did.

When I tried to install maps it goes through the whole process as if it's installing the maps, but when I go into select the active maps on the my Oregon 550t there are no maps listed.

If I open a window with the device contents on my Mac while connected via USB the maps are there, albeit in a bit different format than before, but they are there.

I went to the Garmin website where the Map Installer/ Manager is still listed as version 2 and some change. So I re downloaded that version and re installed the older version over the newer one. Sure enough it works fine again. I am once again able to install Garmin / GPSFileDepot maps just like before.

Just curious if anyone else with a Mac had experienced the same problem?

As a side note. It also advised me to update the firmware on the Oregon itself today which I did as well. Now running firmware 5 on the Oregon.
