Hi Boyd,
Thanks!  It's good to know that it is the way it is, rather than something wrong with my settings.  I agree there is a lot of detail on the maps, and once you get zoomed out too far, it gets very busy.  But zoomed in it is great!  I think it is a great mapset and works very well.  You did a great job.  Thanks.

I am running on a Mac, OSX 10.8.3
I am running Basecamp Version 4.1.1.0 (4.1.1.0)
I am have NY TOPO and PA TOPO and Boyds Map of New Jersey 2012 Map installed.
The NY and PA Maps seem to work fine.

However on the Boyd's NJ map, Basecamp behaves strangely.  I have the "detail" slider at the bottom selected to the left most position (least level of detail/most 'minus sign').  When in this situation, when fully zoomed out, I get nothing displayed.  When I zoom in to 1.5 miles, I get nothing displayed, but zooming in to 1.0 miles and less I get a detailed map.

If I change the level of detail map to "one click above the least level of detail", I see a map from 2.0 miles and below, but not at 3.0 miles and above.

I get maps with other permutations as well.

BTW, I was able to load the NJ map to the Garmin and everything looked fine so it seems to be base camp.

Any ideas?
Thx Emp...
