Thanks for the info, I do appreciate it.
I sent Garmin an email last night explaining the issue with the unit.
We'll see what they say.

THANKS again.

OK, the issue with my Garmin Colorado 400c is that it only works with batteries and NOT a power cord. The cause of the problem is this.(self inflicted)
While snowmobiling this past weekend I took my Garmin along to log some new snowmobile trails, plugged into the 12v power accessory on my sled and away I went, worked great for some 100+ miles.... Until, I had a branch that was hanging in the trail hitting the GPS knocking it from the RAM mount (yes I hit it with some serious speed, 70+ mph), LUCKILY the cord held onto the GPS so I didn't lose it and my Wife didn't run it over with her sled.
After this fiasco I then realized the end of the cord was broken and I also realized later that internal plug for the power cord is also suspect due to the fact that I have tried another cord and also plugged it into my computer to upload my tracks and I get nothing (unless I wiggle the crap out of the connection.. It will come on for a second or two using this method)

SO, my question is this...
Can this unit be repaired and if so who can repair it?

Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Loading maps onto Delorme PN30?
September 12, 2012, 05:28:30 PM
I have a friend with a Delorme PN 30 and he would like to load some different maps (Topo and marine/Bluecharts) onto it.  Are they difficult to work with and what would he need to makethis happen?
Is there a website or a program similar to Basecamp he would need to use to do this?

Thanks in advance

I had my Colorado 400C locked on the Marine setting.
Once I set it to Recreational everything showed up like in Basecamp.
VERY nice!!!!
I did try the Automobile mode and it didn't give the detail I was looking for for the type of use I an going to be using it for so REC mode is what works for me.

Thanks everyone.
I REALLY think I'm going to like this little hand held for boat and snowmobile use.

Now if I could only find the cable to my Streetpilot III so I can change the maps in that as well for when I go out for motorcycle rides in out of the way places.   :(

I am in need of a pair of chargers for a Garmin Colorado (this is the larger USB port design not the mini one).

I would like to locate a 12v and a 110v Garmin charge cord if anyone has one laying in a junk drawer collecting dust.

As you can tell I lost my gps "supplies bag" and thankfully the Colorado wasn't in the bag the cords and SD cards were in or I'd be looking for a WHOLE new package.

If so PM me and we can go from there.

Thanks

I wonder if the Colorado 400c has the same issue as the Oregon 400c? http://forums.gpsfiledepot.com/index.php/topic,2930.0.html

Thanks for the heads up and link.

I have resoled the issue.

Thanks once again

I loaded (pretty simply I must say) Topo maps to my new to me Garmin Colorado 400C but for some strange reason when I go to use the GPS out on the road or search none of the roads that are on Basemap. The ONLY way I can see/view them is if I move the pointer and THEN they pop up.

I checked to make sure the settings are correct, (they seem to be) but I can't for the life of me get this thing to properly display roads/trails etc. when I'm in the map mode.

Can anyone lend a hand?

Thanks in advance
