Title: Basecamp anomoly
Post by: Jimbob on January 29, 2010, 02:49:32 PM
Have started fooling some with Base Camp and find it lacks being intuitive for sure. On starting it picks up all the maps on your computer, nice. Under library is a folder that says my collection. Anything new you bring in and place in a new folder needs to be renamed, Waypoints GDB files and so on if you want to save the info. OK Now if you have several folders with info and select any map all that dat in the folders is displayed even if you have not selected it if collection is selected.   At the least, one folder is always selected. So if you want to work on a "new" map all the data in the folders is shown if you want it or not. SIMPLE workaround, Create a folder with NO data in it, then select it to keep from showing  the data stored in at least one or all of the folders.

I'm not sure that's an anomoly, that's how it has been working with BobCat/RoadTrip and now BaseCamp.

Well either way it's a bad piece of programing to omit the option of selecting no library folder. Regardless ,we live and work with what we have.
