Title: is there any way to turn off land ownership shading for black&white gpsr display
Post by: cactusbob on December 01, 2008, 05:32:41 PM
Is there a way to suppress or turn off the shading added to the maps to indicate different land ownership (appears to be federal land; blm, fs, nps, etc., vs. non-federal)?  On a black & white Etrex Legend & Vista display the shaded parts show up as almost opaque and the contour lines and other topo features are not usable.
I'm using the Arizona map.  An example map section is the ArizonaTopo_F3 but anywhere in Arizona really.   I'm using Mapsource 6.14.1.

I imagine one way would be to exclude a data source in map creation but it'd be nice to be able to toggle it on and off.

Otherwise really great job and hopefully this can be resolved.

Thanks.

Those are standard shadings from Garmin.  On that unit I don't think there is a way I would have to recompile the whole map without it.

I'll look into it further though.
