I just downloaded the 1g Calif Topo map by Laura Sandborn. It does not have interactive popup of road names, lakes, rivers, etc. nor are they named to show on the map. Is there a way (or other topo maps) that offer greater text details, including trails, dirt or jeep roads, etc. I would like to layout waypoints for some back county travel for hand held GPS.

Are the roads on the map when you load it? With that map you need to make sure you select a big enough area that you get the contour data as well as the road data (they're two seperate layers).
